Sometimes you get ’em and some times you don’t. We fished all through the night and into the early morning. The action ebbed and flowed through the night with long cold spells and moments of action. I even had a fish put me in the backing. It’s been awhile since that’s happened so even though it was brief, it felt good. This is a shameless plug but my lineup of rods is currently missing an 8wt and I won’t lie, my LOOP Opti Coast 7wt had all the backbone I needed to maintain control on these fish. Been nothing but impressed with that rod. Needless to say, it was definitely worth staying up and driving straight to work! I’ll let the pictures do the talking. There will be a lot of gripping and grinning/hiding/prowling/ninjamasking so sorry about that.

Blinded by all the fishy slabness, I was stunned when I finally noticed it: the leopard had. So awesome, what a night!

Nice fish! Mind sharing what you guys were throwing out there in the dark? There is a lake or two nearby that have some Macks. I might have to give it a try, any tips are appreciated

Wow… I tried for some lakers this spring but didn’t catch anything like that. Nice fish as always! Which flies did you get em with?
