It was beautiful, sunny Saturday and the lady and little man were wanting to get out. My wife didn’t care where we went as long as we got to get out in the freshly fallen snow. She suggested that we could head up the canyon and I could fish a little to if I wanted to. How could I refuse? We got bundled up and headed up Provo Canyon. The sun was shining and it was an absolute gorgeous day to be out. To me, it doesn’t get much better than the mix of blue skies and freshly fallen snow. We went to a place that had some good stretches of water as well as some open snow fields to mess around in.

As I fished, Zev got jealous that I was using his favorite toy. He took a turn imitating my casting. He got a kick out of seeing the fish as I landed them. I lucked out today and caught mostly rainbows. I love catching rainbow trout on the Provo River. They are usually fatter and put up a decent fight. I love the variety you get in their patterns as well. The fish today were willing and had some great colors. After wrestling in the snow a bit, catching a half dozen fish or so, we headed out. I feel so grateful to live in a place where I can drive 15 minutes and be surrounded by so much beauty.

I grew up in the Riverbottoms. The Provo was at the end of my street & we had a creek going thru our porperty. I used to bike & hike up the Canyon all the time!
