fishing blog

I originally started a fishing blog back in 2008 called “Fishies and Freshies” just for kicks and giggles. I enjoy writing about my experiences out fishing and the blog served as a journal of sorts. Slowly people actually started reading and it was fun that other fishing addicts were enjoying sharing in my experiences. However, life got crazy and I lagged big time at keeping it up to date. In the last couple years I’ve really taken a great interest in “web stuff” so I thought it would be fun to have a place to have some fun with it. In November 2010 I decided to have another go at it. This time around I decided to start fresh and include a couple of my fishing buddies. OutsmartingFish.com was born.

So what is OSF? Well, for starters, fishing is fun.  That’s why I started a fly fishing blog in the first place: cause I freaking love fishing and I enjoy sharing it with others. So the idea behind my fishing blog has always been to just share the goods about fishing and hopefully get whoever is reading it excited to go fish. Sometimes we take fishing a little too seriously. It doesn’t take too much browsing the interwebz to see that there’s an unbelievable amount of negativity floating around – and it’s easy to get caught up in it. This blog is really just trying to focus on the good times. Cause at the end of the day we’re really just trying to trick fish into eating fake food. Considering the time we put in and the elements we subject ourselves to in order to do so, it’s really kind of idiotic.

We’re just a group of ordinary guys that love fly fishing and try to do it as much as possible – while still striving to maintain a healthy balance in life. We’ve always believed in maintaining a quality over quantity-type approach and  do our best to serve up some stuff that peeps will enjoy, so if you’re here and reading this…thanks for checking us out!
